Layers of Quiet

Layers of Quiet is a framed painting from my Quiet Places Collection, Small paintings for moments of stillness.

Quiet Places is an evolving collection of intimate landscape paintings, created as small spaces to pause, breathe and look a little longer.

Each 32x42 framed painting captures a fleeting sense of somewhere peaceful — a field of flowers, the edge of a billabong, distant hills, a quiet clearing or the changing light across the landscape. Some begin with recognisable places and gradually move towards abstraction, allowing colour, texture, line and layered marks to become as important as the landscape itself.

Together, the works explore the restorative quality of nature and  small moments of calm that can be found within it. They are paintings for intimate spaces — a bedside, reading corner, hallway or a set on a  wall. They offer a gentle visual pause within the busyness of everyday life.

No two paintings are the same. Each has its own atmosphere, colour and sense of place, yet together they form a growing collection of small breathing spaces that invites you to find your own favourite place to pause.
