The crossing
A layered impression of a hidden crossing along the weir near my home, this work captures the quiet rhythm of water, reflection, and memory. Built through translucent washes and textured marks, the painting moves between landscape and abstraction, allowing fragments of place to emerge and dissolve.
Soft blues, eucalyptus greens, and misted lilacs evoke the cool stillness of water and vegetation, while gestural lines suggest the structure of the crossing disappearing into its surroundings. The work invites stillness and contemplation, offering a moment to pause and become immersed in the calm, restorative energy of the landscape.
