In a time of cognitive overload, my paintings offer a quiet place to rest your eyes and mind, to contemplate the day, or to drift into another realm. They are meditative spaces, created through layered abstraction to provide the emotional oxygen of landscape before reconnecting with an increasingly disconnected, digital, and demanding world.
My smaller works are intended for intimate spaces, places where you can step away, breathe, and reset. The larger works invite shared reflection and connection within a circle of safety. In commercial environments, they become a gentle reminder to breathe as you walk past them, or a stimulus to stop and recharge amid the movement of daily life.
Many of these works are inspired by my own breathing spaces — the billabong near my home and the alpine landscapes visible from Albury. Unlike the two seasons of much of Australia, we have four distinct seasons. Spring brings vibrant greens and bursts of new colour. Summer softens into eucalyptus greens, dusty blues, greys, and browns. Autumn glows with oranges, golds, and reds. Winter settles into vivid greens, misty greys, and snow whites.
Through colour, texture, and layered form, my hope is that these works create moments of stillness, reflection, and restoration for you.
